Winnipeg — Winnipeg, Canada

Winnipeg, Canada

Another sunny day - how lucky we have been here. Walked back to the Forks and had a good brunch and then went along by the almost frozen over Red River. Glenys slipped on a patch of black ice here and fell very heavily, hurting her knee and breaking her glasses. I got handfuls of snow and packed on her knee every couple of minutes and encouraged her to keep walking hanging on to my arm. This afternoon her knee seems to be ok and hopefully won't be too sore tomorrow in Churchill. Tried to patch up the glasses but no luck. So Glenys is wearing a spare pair of mine. Thought for a while that she wouldn't be able to spot the bears! But all is well. On our way back to our hotel we visited the Railway Museum at Winnipeg Station. Which seemed to be colder inside than it was outside and good test for Glenys' knee as there were several stairs. We are still having trouble sending emails. We are now at the Sheraton Hotel at Winnipeg Airport which has free WiFi but lets hope this goes through. It is no use when we're having so much trouble connecting. Glenys knee is still tender but no major damage appears to have been done. When we got to our room we found two very heavy 'Goose Down' coats provided by our tour organisers to keep out the -13c chill of Churchill. They are great.
