The Rockies — Denver, CO
Tuesday came by quickly and today myself, my friend, and some others were headed to a place called Vail, way up in the Rocky mountains. We got a really cheap deal for a resort up there that had a heated swimming pool and spa which was amazing to be in during the cold weather. We had pre game in the hotel room with ridiculous amonts of bourbon and rum we bought for the four of us. I found a robe and decided it mad me look rather posh so I wore it while drinking my bourbon to suit the drinks classiness. Later that night we headed to one of the few bars Vail has and partied the night away with the 6 other people that were there. Played some foosball, won some free drinks, met some new people... The usual
The next day we didn't have to check out untill 1pm so we made the most of the spa and pool before heading home. On the way home we stopped of at Bubba Gump for a meal and the Red Rock Ampitheatre which was really nice with a good landscape view over Denver. That night we got home just in time to make it to the Nuggets' home court to scalp some tickets for the NBA game that was on.
Thursday in Denver consisted of walking through downtown denver, checking out some State garden full of bumbs and junkies openly using drugs, as well as the clock tower. We went out to a Margarita bar then ended up at another one that had Flip Night which basically meant you flipped a coin for every order you made to see if you get it for free.
The last 2 days in denver consisted of playing beer pong at some locals house but more importantly SNOW! It was the first time i had seen snow actually fall and I was having so much fun just being amongst it. By Saturday night it had snowed quite a lot so we went sledding in a nearby park. By this time I had bought my full set of snow gear which made my time in the cold a lot more fun, it also prepared me for my job in Canada and my hike in Yosemite that is still to come.
